Words Wide Night: fearless, and therefore powerful
Time & Location
About the Event
Join us for Words Wide Night on July 13 at Shoe Bar & Cafe, Yagan Square. We throw open the doors at 7pm with admission $5 on entry, or free for performers.
Perth's most innovative and multi-disciplinary open mic, this is an inclusive and deliberately supportive event.
Words Wide Night is a space for new performers to take to the stage for the first time and established performers to try new material in a friendly space.
This open mic features some of Perth's best storytellers, poets and spoken word performers, musicians and singer-songwriters, comedians and generally sort of funny types. If there’s time enough and demand, your host for Words Wide Night, Jay, will probably read something involving bears.
If you want to perform, get in touch, and let us know if you're new to Words Wide Night, because one spot in each of the night's three sections is reserved for fresh faces.
Support Words Wide Night and you support local artists and local business – but most of all come to enjoy yourself with some of the city's best performers.

We acknowledge this event takes place on the traditional lands of Whatdjuk Nyoongar people, and that sovereignty of these lands was never ceded.
This month's event name is taken from 'Frankenstein' by Mary Shelley, “Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.”
